Hi all, don’t you hate it when you use your skein and then it gets all loose and annoying? We know if we continue and not keep it “nicely” together then hello, knots!
I got mine 2 years ago online on Wal-Mart.. It’s called Lacis Wool Yarn Ball Winder ll Plastic for about $25 or get it on Amazon for a couple dollars more with free shipping if you have prime (still cheaper than Joann)!
> Works great
> Can wind up a fairly large skein
> Good size, not big, not small
> Keeps yarn organized and knot-free
> I like how you can wind up small skeins for on the go projects
> Easy to store
> You need to have a thin table to clamp the winder on (maybe a couple inches thick?)
> The winder knob can get loose causing the clamp to become loose if you go too fast, so, you’ll need to tighten it back up
> One color choice which is red and cream
> Wished there was more instructions when I got the winder
> It can get loud if you go fast and depending where you clamped it onto
This yarn winder will come in 2 pieces, easy to attach and take off
The clamp on the bottom to attach to tables
The split on the top to hold the end of the yarn in place
The red knob will tighten and loosen clamp, handle will wind up the yarn
This metal bar will be where you feed your yarn through
This is how a small skein of yarn would look like
You can get yarn winders at any craft store, though, most of the time you have to purchase it online. Wal-Mart was the cheapest price and free shipping to a Wal-Mart location. I think Joann has the same brand for about $47, that’s almost 50% more, BUTTTT if there happens to be a 40-50% off coupon, I’d totally go for it!! PS. I’ve had this yarn winder for about 2 years and it’s still going great. No issues for me and still in perfect condition. I love it and it was worth the money!
HAVE YOU GUYS USED A YARN WINDER BEFORE? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF IT? IT’S DEFINITELY A HOLY GRAIL ITEM IF YOU’RE INTO YARN AS I AM 🙂
